It is known as "Şeyh Hilal" because it was built by Şeyh Hilal in 1631, and as the "Şeyh Ahmet Mosque" because it was sold to Şeyh Ahmet in 1937. The mosque's single minaret is original, built in 1643 by Fatma, daughter of Musa. The minaret, in the northwest corner of the courtyard, has a square base with chamfered corners. Its polygonal, thick shaft is made of finely cut stone. It has a single balcony, with the area beneath it filled with three rows of muqarnas.
