Editor's Note
Located in the Çaylak neighborhood of Kilis, west of the Hasan Bey Hamam, the Vehhâb Efendi Caravanserai has survived only in part. While the exact date of construction is unknown, it is said to have been built in 1873 by Mahmut Efendizade Vehhâb Efendi. Only the section known as the "camel stable" remains today. Roughly square in plan, it is entered through a low arched doorway. Inside, stone piers are connected to one another by pointed arches.
