Editor's Note
The Cuma Fakıh Mosque was built in 1541. Together with its madrasa it forms a small religious complex. In 1891 it was repaired, along with the madrasa, by the brothers Mehmet Zabit and Mehmet Arif. The madrasa has not survived, and the mosque has largely lost its original form through successive repairs. Damaged in the 1998 earthquake, the building was repaired and reopened for worship in 2003.
