Editor's Note
Hıdırlık Tower is a cylindrical tower 14 metres high, built in the 2nd century on the city walls of Antalya. Standing at the southwest corner of the walls in Karaalioğlu Park, it has a square base and a cylindrical upper section and is thought to date to the reign of the Roman emperor Hadrian. It was used as a lighthouse and a watchtower over ships entering the gulf, and because of fresco remnants in its lower chamber some sources also interpret it as a hero's tomb.
