The exact construction date of the tomb, thought to have been built in the 18th century, is unknown. Durhasan Dede, after whom the tomb is named, is regarded as the ancestor of the Yanyatır Ocağı, the lineage to which the Tahtacı belong. In the damage assessment carried out after the 6 February earthquakes, the building, designated CEY-16, showed no signs of earthquake damage.
