Editor's Note
The Old Misis Mosque was built in AH 1070 (AD 1659/1660). Although the building has no construction inscription, a document in the archive of the General Directorate of Foundations records its construction date as AH 1070. This is the year the Havraniye Caravanserai was rebuilt in 1659 by Sultan Mehmed V, and the mosque was probably built at the same time. The mosque has a longitudinal rectangular plan, with a portico in front. The portico is covered by a wood-beamed ceiling resting on a total of six wooden posts. The east walls of the portico are closed.
