According to legend, she is said to have been one of the female saints. Sarı Ana, said to have won the love of those around her through her kindness and tolerance, is said by legend to have shown the way to Suleiman the Magnificent before his Rhodes campaign. According to the legend, in 1522 the Ottoman Army of one hundred thousand under the command of Suleiman the Magnificent, together with an Ottoman fleet of about 700 ships, marched 40 days from Istanbul to Marmaris in order to besiege Rhodes from the sea.
