Sütun Anıt III

Sütun Anıt III is a monument in Silifke, Mersin; On the grey marble column at the entrance of the Stone Bridge, on the right-hand side, 3.5 m tall and 0.50 m in diameter, set on a 1.5 m base, the following inscriptions appear in five sections, four in Ottoman Turkish and the fifth added in modern Turkish: 'Ottoman Independence 20.5.699', 'Proclamation of the Constitution 10.7.324', 'Convening of the Grand National Assembly 23.4.1336', 'Repair of the Bridge 15.2.1338', 'Widened by the Highways Authority 1972'.
