Editor's Note
It is in the centre of the Silifke district. It was built in AD 77-78 by L. Octavius Memor, governor of Cilicia, in honour of the Roman Emperor Vespasian and his sons Titus and Domitian. The Stone Bridge over the River Göksu preserved its original form until the late 19th century. It has been repaired and altered many times. It was repaired by Berogos Kalfa on 29 March 1869. When this repair proved insufficient, another repair was raised in 1872. The largest known restoration was completed in 1875 by Mehmet Ali Pasha, governor of Silifke. Widening works were carried out on the bridge in 1972.
