Editor's Note
The Central Agora lies on the flat ground between the Council Building (Bouleuterion) and the southern end of Harbor Street. Having suffered extensive damage because many of its building blocks were reused in the construction of the Late Antique walls, the agora has survived to the present only as the North Gate of the West Stoa, part of the West Stoa, and a very short section of the East Stoa. Public buildings such as the theater, the council building, Harbor Street, the Baths of Nero, the gymnasion (educational building), and the latrina (lavatory) were arranged around the Central Agora.
