In the ancient city of Patara, the structure that local people call the "German houses" has been revealed to be the first wireless and telegraph station established by the Ottomans in 1906 to maintain communication with the city of Derna in the Vilayet of Tripolitania in Africa. From this station, a connection was made with the city of Derna in the Tripolitania province. The Italians bombed the station and reduced it to ruins. In 2020 it was decided to restore it and convert it into a museum.
