The Arneai Ancient Settlement is 26 km northwest of Myra and 45 km from Finike. It is reached by following the Limyra-Arykanda road for 25 km, then turning toward Kaş and descending into the valley at the 10th kilometer. It lies to the south, a five-minute walk from Ernez. It is not a city much mentioned in history; it was a small settlement. It is known to have joined sympoliteiai during the 1st century AD. Inscriptions show that it remained tied to Myra until the end of the Byzantine period. As a bishopric dependent on Myra, it is listed in ninth place. It sits on a naturally protected, rocky hill extending southward from the village.
