Tophane Şapel A

Tophane Chapel A is located at the southern tip of the Tophane neighborhood, on the slope below the highway, just before reaching the Uğrun Kapı locality after passing through the Kale Kapısı (Castle Gate) via Kale Yolu, on parcel 42 of block 422. Chapel A is a very small building (Fig. 1). Yet the interior of this small chapel is covered with strikingly vivid wall paintings of Christian iconography.
