In Alanya, the roughly 800-year-old Kızlarpınarı Han (caravanserai) and fountain from the Seljuk period were brought to light through the cooperation of the Alanya Municipality and the Museum Directorate. With its pool and cistern, the structure has the character of an ayazma (sacred spring). Once used as a caravanserai, it is also known as a place where young women tied votive offerings in the hope of finding a marriage match. After restoration, the historic fabric was brought into harmony with modern arrangements, adding aesthetic value to the town.
