The Mehmetçik Monument is a 22-metre-high monumental sculpture of a Turkish soldier on Kartaltepe in Polatlı, Ankara Province, where the Battle of Sakarya was fought. Erected in 2008, it commemorates the Turkish soldiers, nicknamed Mehmetçik, who died in the Turkish War of Independence.
