Editor's Note

The Atatürk Library is a research library on Miralay Şefikbey Street in the Taksim quarter of Istanbul, run by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality. Founded as a municipal library in 1924, it is among the first libraries of the Republican era. Operating in its Taksim building since 1981, it was named the best library in Turkey in 2007 and again in 2011.
