The Baruthane Cayiri Park Fountain is an important water structure that reflects the historic fabric of Beykoz. This fountain carries the memory of the Baruthane area, which was a center of gunpowder and salt operations in the Ottoman period. Located today in the middle of the park, the fountain, a stone-built structure notable for its elegant design, offers visitors the water culture and architectural skill of a century ago. An interesting detail: the name Baruthane comes from the fact that one of the Ottomans' most important military depots was located here, and the fountain is a witness to the economic vitality of that era. If you have come to Beykoz, sitting under the shady trees of the quiet park beside this historic fountain, breathing the Bosphorus air, and reflecting on the Ottoman heritage is a most pleasant experience.
