Story
The Yavuz Selim Mosque Fountain, located within the historic fabric of Fatih, is an important structure reflecting the aesthetic sensibility of the sixteenth century. Built during one of the Ottoman Empire's most powerful eras, under the reign of Yavuz Selim, this fountain met the city's need for water while also being designed as a work of art. The fine details of its cut-stone craftsmanship and its geometric motifs bear the characteristic features of Ottoman architecture.
