The Beyazit Complex Tombs Fountain, located in Fatih, is part of the famous complex built in the 15th century by Mehmed II. One of the magnificent examples of classical Ottoman architecture, this fountain stands out with its delicate, vaulted niche worked in stone and marble and its inscribed plaque. The sebil, located in the tombs area to the north of the mosque, was a gift of past benefactors to those they loved through water. Among the oldest and most majestic complexes in Istanbul, the Beyazit Complex symbolizes the meticulousness and elegance of Islamic architecture. When the bejeweled craftsmanship of the historical record on the fountain's inscriptions combines with the geometric motifs of the thuluth script, it lends the structure both a religious and an aesthetic meaning.
