Editor's Note
The İshak Ağa Fountain (also known as Terazibaşı or Terazi Fountain) stands in Istanbul's Beykoz district. It was commissioned in 1749-1750 by İshak Ağa, the former chief customs officer of Istanbul. Originally it had a spout and basin on all four faces; two were later closed off, and although sewer works in 1970 cut its water, subsequent works and a 2005 restoration returned it to use.
