Aşağı Sinan Ağa Çeşmesi

Editor's Note

An Ottoman-period fountain on Esnaf Loncası Street in the Ayvansaray neighborhood of Fatih. According to its inscription, a fountain on this spot was rebuilt in 1899, and it bears the tughra of Abdülhamid II. It has a marble mirror stone worked with floral motifs and a marble basin projecting at the front; although restored by the Fatih Municipality, it no longer runs. A same-named Upper Sinan Ağa Fountain stands in the same neighborhood.
