This fountain at the entrance of Necmeddin Okyay Street in Üsküdar was commissioned in 1670 by Abbas Ağa, chief eunuch of the imperial harem. Also known as the Ağalar Başı Fountain, it is Ottoman architecture at street scale, a courtier's charitable work that has carried his name into the neighbourhood for centuries.
