The Fountain of Sultan Ahmed III stands in the great square in front of the Imperial Gate of Topkapı Palace in Istanbul. It was built in 1728 under Ottoman sultan Ahmed III in the style of the Tulip period. During the Ottoman period it served as a social centre and gathering place.
