Editor's Note
Yaka Castle, also known as Güdübeş Castle, is a ruined fortress on flat land about 15 kilometres east of Mersin. The only known fact about it is that it was built by the Crusaders during the Crusades, in the 12th or 13th century. Largely collapsed, the square-plan castle had three watchtowers of differing shapes: square, circular, and polygonal.
