Story
Akkaya Travertenleri is a natural travertine formation on the Mudurnu road, approximately 10 kilometers southwest of central Bolu. The source states that the main east-west section is 250 meters long, while a second section 100 meters to its west is 50 meters long. With its surrounding greenery and travertine pools, the area is regarded as a nature-tourism destination, and day-use facilities are also nearby. An earlier account that the stone was used in architecture in antiquity has been removed because it could not be verified. Care should be taken to protect the surface during a visit.
