Located within the İlkadım district of Samsun, the Baruthane Tumuli are silent witnesses to Anatolia's ancient past. These burial mounds span a broad period of time reaching from the Hittite era to the Hellenistic age. The proximity of their geographic position to one of the important routes of Black Sea trade shows how strategic the region has been throughout history.
