Kızkumu is a roughly 600-metre stretch of shallow water that divides a bay into two parts in the Orhaniye district of Muğla, Turkey. According to legend, a girl wishing to reach her lover filled her skirt with sand and walked into the sea, filling it as she went, and drowned when she ran out of sand. A sculpture of this girl stands at the beginning of the shallow stretch.
