Editor's Note
Boncuklu Höyük is a Neolithic site in Central Anatolia, Konya Province, about 9 km from the more famous Çatalhöyük. The tell holds the remains of one of the world's oldest villages, occupied roughly between 8300 and 7800 BC, with small oval mudbrick buildings and human burials placed beneath their floors. The earliest known ceramics of Anatolia were found here, and the site is considered a precursor to the later large-scale agricultural developments of Çatalhöyük, marking some of the first appearance of farming on the Anatolian plateau.
