Çadır Höyük is an important ancient settlement and archaeological site in Yozgat Province, in the Kanak Suyu plain southeast of Sorgun and near Peyniryemez village. It lies about 16 km south of Sorgun and roughly 70 km from the Hittite capital of Hattuša. The artificial mound measures about 240 by 140 metres and rises 32 metres above the valley plain. It contains some 6,000 years of human settlement, ranging from the Middle Chalcolithic era through the Hellenistic period, with dense occupation continuing into the Late Roman and Byzantine periods.
