It is mentioned as a bishopric by Hierocles and other ecclesiastical writers and is included in the Catholic Church's list of titular sees, located between Dionysopolis and Laodikeia. Modern surveys place its remains near Sazak in the Çal district of Denizli Province, a few kilometres northeast of Çal.
