Claros was an ancient Greek sanctuary on the Ionian coast, containing a temple and oracle of Apollo, in the territory of Colophon and near the modern town of Ahmetbeyli in İzmir Province's Menderes district. Like Delphi and Didyma, it was a major center of prophecy, with the oldest references reaching back to the 6th-7th centuries BC. Games called the Claria were held there every fifth year in honor of Apollo, and excavations have revealed both the architecture and ritual workings of the oracle.
