The Baltalı Kapı (Axe Gate) was the entrance gate of the ancient city of Mylasa and is today the north gate of Milas. Located within the Hacıapdi neighborhood, west of Esentepe, it measures 5 by 12 meters. It takes its name from the double-headed axe figure, known in antiquity as the "labrys," carved on its keystone, and was built at the end of the 1st century BC.
