The House of the Virgin Mary is a Catholic shrine on Mt. Koressos near Ephesus, about 7 km from Selçuk. It was identified in the 19th century following the reported visions of the nun Anne Catherine Emmerich. While the Catholic Church has not pronounced on whether it was truly the home of Mary, the site has received regular pilgrimages since its discovery.
