Mostene was a Roman- and Byzantine-era city on the Hyrcanian plain near Sardis, capital of ancient Lydia. It struck its own coins and was struck by the earthquake of AD 17, after which it received aid from the emperor Tiberius. Scholars debate whether it was a Macedonian colony or a native Lydian settlement; it was a bishopric suffragan to the metropolis of Sardis. Its site lies near Sancaklıbozköy in the Şehzadeler district of Manisa Province.
