Editor's Note
Midaeium was an ancient town in northeastern Phrygia, on the road from Dorylaeum (Eskişehir) to Pessinus beside the small Bathys river, and part of the region of Phrygia Salutaris in Roman times. Its name implies it was founded by one of the Phrygian kings; in history it is noted as the place where Sextus Pompeius, son of Pompey the Great, was captured by Mark Antony's generals and later executed. An ancient bishopric, it survives today as a titular see of the Roman Catholic Church. The site lies near the village of Karahüyük in the Odunpazarı district of Eskişehir.
