Bybassus (also written Bybassos, Bubassus or Bubassos) was a town in ancient Caria. Ancient writers refer to it under varying names: Ephorus called it Bybasston, Diodorus the Bubastus of the Chersonese, and Pliny the Elder spoke of a 'region of Bubassus.' Herodotus likewise mentions the Bubassian Chersonese.
