Aianteion was a small town of the ancient Troad; its name translates as 'Aias'. The site lies near Kumkale in the central district of Çanakkale, and it is known as the Biga Aianteion to distinguish it from its Thracian namesake. Little more than the name and the location have come down, but together they tie the place to the heroic geography of the Troad.
