Ancon was a settlement of ancient Pontus on the Black Sea, on a headland and bay of the same name east of Amisus. It is mentioned in the Argonautica of Valerius Flaccus and by Apollonius Rhodius; its site lies at the mouth of the Yeşilırmak (the ancient Iris).
