Editor's Note
Pladasa was an old settlement in the region of ancient Caria. Although its name does not appear in the works of classical-era authors, its existence has been firmly established through epigraphic finds and inscriptions discovered in the area. Pladasa held the identity of an independent polis and was also an official member of the Athenian-led Delian League; research shows a strong Carian presence in the city's population makeup.
