Editor's Note
Neapolis, also known as Heraclea, was a Greek city in ancient Thrace on the coast of the Propontis (Sea of Marmara). A member of the Delian League, it appears in the Athenian tribute records between 442/1 and 430/29 BC. The territory it controlled was small, estimated at less than 25 square kilometres; along the coast to its northeast lay Serreion Teichos, Panion and Bisanthe, and to its southwest Tirodiza and Pactya. The site lies today in the Şarköy district of Tekirdağ.
