Editor's Note
Arsada (Arsadus) was a Lycian ancient city near Arsaköy in the Seydikemer district of Muğla, situated on the slopes of the Taurus Mountains above the Xanthos valley, between ancient Tlos and Xanthos. Its name means 'stream' in Luwian and Lycian, fitting the streams found around it. As no detailed excavation has been carried out, little is known about the city; in the 19th century Thomas Abel Brimage Spratt visited the area and found rock-cut tombs, two of them bearing inscriptions naming the place.
