Editor's Note
Theangela was a town in ancient Caria that, after Alexander the Great's conquest of the region, was placed under the jurisdiction of Halicarnassus. A polis and member of the Delian League, it was in a sympoliteia (union of cities) with Cildara and Thodosa, and was the birthplace of the 4th-century BC historian Philip of Theangela. The site lies today near the Etrim quarter of Pınarlıbelen village in the Bodrum district of Muğla, reached by a roughly 9 km woodland path from Etrim.
