Comana Pontica was an ancient city in ancient Pontus, on the river Iris (Yeşilırmak). Its remains lie at modern Gümenek, near Tokat.

Seven kilometres outside Tokat, near the village of Gümenek on the bank of the Yeşilırmak, stood a temple state. According to Strabo the wide lands around the sanctuary had been transferred to the temple by the king of Pontus; the land was worked and the temple took all its income for its upkeep. Six thousand serfs, most of them Persian, served the sanctuary, and the high priest who governed the city ranked second only to the king of Pontus. Both Strabo and Julius Caesar visited; John Chrysostom, who died on the road into exile from Constantinople, died here. The site was located in 2009 using ground-penetrating radar, and excavation of the outer walls began soon after.
