Editor's Note
Alopeconnesus was an ancient Greek city on the western coast of ancient Thrace, in the region of the Thracian Chersonesus. An Aeolian colony, its name was believed to derive from settlers being directed by an oracle to found the colony where they first met a fox with its cub; in the time of Macedonian ascendancy it was allied with Athens.
