Editor's Note
Tarhuntassa was a Hittite city, whose exact location has not yet been identified, that briefly served as the capital of the Hittite state; it also names the surrounding region in the central Taurus Mountains. Meaning "city of the Storm God (Tarhunta)" in Luwian, it corresponds largely to the ancient region of Pamphylia, with the Kastariya river forming its western boundary.
