Editor's Note
Idrias was a town of ancient Caria; it has been suggested it could be identified with the city the Bronze Age Hittite texts call Atriya. Herodotus cites its territory, which he names Idriade, where the Marsyas River (a tributary of the Maeander) rose. It was a member of the Delian League, appearing in an Athenian tribute decree dated to 425/4 BCE.
