Editor's Note

Knidos is an ancient settlement of the Carian period in the Datça district of Muğla. A Greek city and part of the league known as the Dorian Hexapolis, it lay on the Datça Peninsula, which forms the southern side of the gulf known today as the Gulf of Gökova.
