Gargara was an ancient Greek city on the southern coast of the Troad region in Anatolia. Founded on the slopes of Mount Gargaron, one of the peaks of Mount Ida known today as Koca Kaya, it was moved in the 4th century BC to a coastal plain about 5.8 km to the south; both sites lie near Küçükkuyu in the Ayvacık district of Çanakkale.

- In the fifth century BC Gargara belonged to the Delian League and paid Athens between 4,500 and 4,600 drachmas.
- After Virgil used it in the Georgics, Gargara became a byword for agricultural abundance in Latin poetry; Ovid and Seneca used it the same way.
- The poet Aratus of Soli wrote an epigram for his friend Diotimos, who sat among the rocks teaching the alphabet to the children of Gargara.
- Both sites lie near Küçükkuyu in Ayvacık, Çanakkale; Demetrius of Scepsis relates that after settlers were forcibly moved in from Miletoupolis, almost no Aeolians were left in the city.
