The Tokat Mevlevi Lodge became the center in Tokat of Mevlevism, one of the most profound expressions in the history of Sufism, and still stands as the bearer and guardian of this heritage. Along its journey from the Ottoman era to the present, in this school where dervishes sought the harmony of soul and body, life turns as the sema ritual turns, and its serene, mystical spaces invite visitors to contemplation. The interior of the lodge is adorned with elegant calligraphy, original furniture, and period objects; the works of the musician and poet Mevlevis hold particular importance in the displays. An interesting point is Mevlevism's belief in reaching the divine through music and poetry-which is why traces of art are everywhere within the lodge.
