The Church of Saint Anne, known in Turkish as Küçük Ayvasıl Kilisesi, is thought to be the oldest church in Trabzon, dating to the 6th or 7th century; it is a three-nave structure built of rubble stone. Not in service for over a century, it was thoroughly restored in 2021-22, and with the whitewash removed all remaining frescoes have become visible again. The church is open to the public free of charge during daytime hours.
